Should my tank really have 'YAHAMA' on it?

Hi all, Newbie here ... first time here - feeling like a bit of an interloper, but here anyway... Hi guys!

Passed my test last December on a very lovely XJ6, and have been riding a Kwakkaskaskanki ZZR600 ever since..

... Ok - I'm here to ask questions, and seek a bit of help on behalf of an old Yamaha here ...

... Anybody looking? .. good! :hyper: Always nice to be noticed!

How the smeg do I re-register an old (1980) DT125E ?? I have an old one that use to be a lively member of the road-going community, and is now getting her puff back....

Any help would be greatly appreciated folks ...

Cheers!

Welcome helmet" :biglaugha: ,,, You can register it on Frame number, don"t try ans register on a number plate,[ any old plate you got with bike]

As it may be wrong model , [ frame etc] and lead to a Q plate, :eusa_whistle:

Aah! ... Cheers folks! thanks for the welcome! - Sorry I took a while to come back, but... well... I've been a tad busy! ..... (NO - I wasn't juist polishing the helmet... :jossun: )

Right then... here we go....

Sadly, the tank doesn't actually say 'YAHAMA' on it - that was just a good way of getting your attention (Ok, so I almost got my brother with that question when he got his shiny new R6 a few years ago... )

Ok - the DT125E in question.. has V5, original number plate, old MoT's, all the old docs etc, but was off the road when the Government computerised the database, and so got a little bit... overlooked. :shakeno: Now, it seems, nobody has the DT125E listed anywhere! insurers all want it to be an 'MX' version, or somesuch variant, but nobody wants it to be what it is! .. the mechanic who's care, attention, blood, sweat, (hammer) and tears have just got it MoT'd again has suggested insuring it on a classic bike policy, but I'd rather just get it all up to date and keep things as original as possible! ...

.. Hey Blackhat250 - nice collection of bikes on your list!

They want to call it an mx because it is an mx. The mx indicates the single shock rear suspention.

Does your engine frame numbers start 2A8?
