Hey everyone,

So the 77 TY175 has developed a power loss/poor running issue. It starts first kick every time, idles great and will take as much throttle as you want to give it from idle. Once in gear and riding it starts to accelerate normally and then kind of dies out (still running) but just kind of gets sputtery and won't come develop any kind of power or speed from there, if that makes sense. Plug looks decent, am replacing it tonight anyway just in case. Carb has been cleaned and it has new pistion and rings. It was running fine until yesterday. I don't have a compression tester but am shopping for one today. Maybe carboned up exhaust? Crank seal leak? Any advice appreciated....thanks in advance.

Carbueration, the old air filter was crumbling apart and the carb was full of dirt and air filter foam residue. Cleaned up and it runs great, just need a new filter element. Who is my best online parts supplier for the TY?

Fabricated a new filter from K&N foam and it worked great for about two minutes then the same thing...turned out there was a bunch of crud in the bottom of the fuel tank. Flushed tank and cleaned carb and she is once again a 60mph machine!
