Hi All,

I am no biker ! But my son who is 17 is... well was up until yesterday. In April I bought him a 2012 125 yzf R something ! Anyway yesterday he crashed it but only on tarmac and was not too badly hurt thank god.

Its going to cost me 1500 just to get the bike rideable with out having the cosmetic stuff done. Dealership is offering me 200.00 scrap its only done 6000 miles and I paid cash for it 4,300 4 months ago.

I can't afford to fix it . What do I do

Oh and its only 3rd party insurance...the bile is not under any claims or finance

Thanks

Jen

PS just to be on the safe side i put it on ebay for 24 hours at £300

Welcome jeanette" £ 4,500 4 months ago. its the cosmetics that are most expensive,

To get it ridable, should be just levers/ footpeg/ bars / grips/ flashers, £100 worth, Unless is was a total mess, ?

Hard luck Jen, the main thing is your lad wasn't to badly hurt.

Does this mean he's given up biking?

Couldn't he have the bike as a project and do it up himself?

When you say it's going to cost £1500 to get the bike rideable what does that entail?

Mike

:welcome: Jeannette. From the other thread it sounds like you are working things out. Maybe you will become a biker. :)
