Dom660 Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Hi, has anybody have experiance with dished front sprockets? I'm working on a XS400, Ive fitted a different swing arm to allow for 150 rear tyre on Talon wheels. I need about 8-10mm on the front sprocket to allow for the chain alignment. Thanks
dt502001 Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 You can chuck it up in a lathe and cut the center out of the sprocket make a spacer and tig weld it back together. Tack weld it and check for true center before welding it all up. Then have it hardened I suggest talking to some drag racers they will know of someone in your area who can do this for you.If you don't have access to the tools needed. Or the local collage if they offer a machine shop class you won't pay labour just material, well at least here they don't charge labour. O yea might as well get 2 made you will need a new one eventualy.
Moderator drewpy Posted August 10, 2012 Moderator Posted August 10, 2012 there's a company in Wales who can do that, can't remember their name. Also check out chopper forums (ie britchopper) they will have contacts or be able to do it themselves
Dom660 Posted August 11, 2012 Author Posted August 11, 2012 Thanks for the responses Guys. I'll post some pics up later. Cheers
