Noise Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 This is the Type of IED's they don't show you on the news, and what our boys and girls deal with most days. Watch the truck, three wagons behind it are military vehicles (the target) also did you spot the people standing at the side of the road to the right of the screen? If you have no respect for our lads and lasses already...................fancy doing their job for a day or two now?
dt502001 Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Watch the video right after this one "IED explodes directly" nowhere as big but some boys must have got hurt. The vets here have made up stickers and banners " if you don't stand behind our troops feel free to stand in front of them "
Moderator drewpy Posted August 8, 2012 Moderator Posted August 8, 2012 that was some explosion, had to watch it a few times to take it all in. scary stuff
Ttaskmaster Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Got some mates out there right now. They're taking a typical soldierly attitude... pissing around and dreaming about ice-cream and Nandos! Apparently they still do the grenade trick, heh heh!
TheBoltons Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Ive seen this one. I have it on good authority that the main reason the blast was so big is because it was only buried very close to the surface. This one, was buried deeper... Luckily TOO deep. Dont know if that will embed - on mobile atm.
TheBoltons Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Yay it did! There are hundreds out there. A close mate of mine has a lot of family and friends in British Forces and his mother works at a local barracks - some of the videos he gets sent.... Well it scares the jebus out of me.

DkD Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Worth their weight in gold.... sterling jobs they do and have done.
Noise Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Too fucking right! just wish i was still serving!
Moderator Cynic Posted August 9, 2012 Moderator Posted August 9, 2012 Friend of mine is back for a few weeks before going back again. Think this is his 4 th tour. As a dog handler specialising in finding these things he is a HVT. Oddly enough he DOESENT talk about the ones that go off. Also the first week or so of leave you can see the stress in him, he's just about right when he goes back. From what he sayes there are few enough that do what he does and every one they find is saving lives. I think he must have a big hairy solid brass pair myself.
