Trev
Hi all, Could someone give me any advice on whats causing the clutch to slip at high revs. It does it under hard acceleration . i have replaced the friction plates and that seemed to make it worse, now i cant even adjust the clutch so the bike will ride off without clutch slip... on striping it down the second time i have noteised the release bearing is in need of replacing but i dont think it is that simple ..is it?? gibson133
I had the same problem on my 86 FZ and I adjusted the clutch cable down by the shift linkage and the problem was fixed. I think it had something to do with the cable stretching over time.
steve
Try taking the clutch cable off completely, and by hand push/pull in and out if it is tight replace the cable. I changed the complete clutch on my sr125 and it was just a sticky cable, it was spot on after replacement.
