if anyone has a wiring diagram or any idea how this goes, id appreciate it a lot. thanks

Looks like there are some letters by each screw which would correspond to rge coloured wires. Can you tell what letters they are ?

Usually Yamaha wiring colour codes are :

R = Red

B = Black

L = Blue

R/Y = Red/Yellow

G = Green

Y = Yellow

W = White

O = Orange

Ch = Dark Brown (Chocolate)

There are more but these are the basic ones

thanks a lot.

the letters are A, B, C, L, & T

i found a wiring diagram for the YL-1 online, which i think tells me 3 (on it B goes to the Battery and is red, L goes to the tail Light and is blue, and C goes to ignition Coil and is brown) , from there i might be able to deduce the rest when i attempt again tomorrow
