Kyle2053 Posted July 24, 2012 Share Posted July 24, 2012 Hey everyone! so I have just finished restoring my 1974 dt175. the bike looks and runs perfectly that is until i got back from off- roading. during the ride everything went great but when i started my bike when i got back it was having a really difficult time shifting. when i would shift into first the shifter would stay down. when i shift into second the shifter stays up and io have to put it back in the middle before I can shift into third. I believe it is the shifter return spring. what i want to know is if i need to tear into my engine or if i can access the spring from the outside. any help would be appriciated.
