Heres my first "big bike"

The 1991 Yamaha XJ 600 Pre Diversion.

Mechanically sound, was just cosmetically rough. Engine has covered just shy of 47,000 miles....

I have very limited knowledge on bikes but want to undertake as much of the work as i dare.

I have owned the bike just under 2 weeks now and have done a fair amount of work to her. I will be uploading pics soon.

All comments, Advice and Criticism welcome

Thanks for looking

Found the bike on an online auction site. She was up for £700, I made a provisional offer of £600 then haggled my way to £550.

I was happy with the purchase.

Once home i dug a little deeper. The last guy was a keen "DIY'er" and thought it would be good to hack off half of the airbox and fit this......

Another mishap that the last owner done that i didnt like was the painting. Which was cracking off. Never painted before so I wanted to keep it simple.

Im happy with the result. Just added the stickers to take away the plainess of white. Was gonna attempt the tank but bottled it and its currently in a bodyshop. :eusa_whistle:

The bike was also restricted to 33bhp. So they had to come off. Fidley job.....

Thats it for now.....

Look forward to your comments.

Hi Mhudsy. Welcome to the YOC. I'd suggest you post a little intro in the New Member section just to let the folks know who you are. :)

As far as the images go, from my phone it looks like there's a URL and an IMG tag. One of the mods may be able to fix the existing links, but I'm not sure. Check out the FAQ in the new member area... there's a help topic for posting pics. Hopefully that'll help. :)
