Hi all was wondering if some one could give me some advise as to the ideal tyre pressure with a pillion on, i'm using stock tyres at the moment got front set for 33lb and rear for 36lb but just doesn't feel right

How you mean by its not feeling right? guess you have not been given the bikes hand book? it should be in there. im at work so cant check for you.

IIRC, the manual says, for a standard bike with no pillion:

F - 28psi

R - 32psi

However, check your tyre manufacturer's recommendations as these will be more applicable to your specific setup and are often very different to the manual.

Edit: Manual actually says:

F 2BAR

R 2.25BAR

for up to 90kg

F 2BAR

R 2.5BAR

for up to 180kg

Again check your specific manufacturer's recommendations

Chances are you'll be better off upping the shock absorber.

Also, if the combined weight of you, the pillion (including clothing) and any luggage is more than 180kg (200kg for the Classic) then you're overloading the bike and straying into dangerous territory.

My manual for my 2007 650A and Dunlop D404F front / Dunlop D404G rear

up to 90kg load - 33 front (225kPa) 33 rear

90 to 198 kg load - 33 front 36 rear (250kPa)

no idea what that is in BAR

As said above you may need to adjust the rear shock - it has numbers from 1 - 7 with 1 being soft, 3 is standard, and you can work the rest out I'm sure. Just remove the seats and adjust with the wrench and extension bar in the owner's tool kit.

33 PSI is exactly 2.27 Bar

36 PSI is exactly 2.48 Bar

Not that im in any way a pressure geek i just have a very good converter on my works PC lol
