My mate said the best thing to do is to drain the oil and then fill it up with Gunk and let it stand overnight.

Then flush it out with water in the morning.

Is hot or cold water best?

best get that ultra thick gunk in gordon, that'll do the trick...ps dont forget the sawdust aswell mind, that'll soak all of the unwanted oil up good and proper ;)

The oil is out and the Gunk is in. Just leaving it in to soak overnight now.

I've decided to put cold water in cos the hot water might damage the inside of the engine. It's an XJ600N.

I wouldnt recommend putting water in at all, but surely hot is better than cold as it would evaporate out quicker

Flush out with a flushing agent, and then fill with oil

i personally find that just replacing the oil right out with my own piss makes the bike run alot smoother...then again, i do still own a ho*da :S
