Hi All, first post on here, but any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 99/2000 R6 track/race bike, looking at the frame number it seems to be only 15 digits, all the forums and web searches I've been through suggest that all frame numbers are 17 digits long, even yamaha themselves cannot identify the bike, although its 15 characters there is an asterisk at the start & end of the number.

Does anyone have any suggestions on this (other than stolen & restamped frame pls).
