Yep thats because there flatsides, if you want it to run nice and smooth you can swap with mine B)

I HAVE A 1996 YZF 750SP WHICH HAS FLAT SIDE CARBS AND IT HAS ALWAYS RUN ROUGH ON TICKOVER AND IN LOWER REV RANGE SOME HAVE SAID ITS NORMAL ANY IDEAS

can not give you any set up advice n the carbs but they should run smoothly, certainly my SP runs smoothly, or it did before i took the engine out

The two ive seen have both run pretty crap, compared to how my standard runs, i always thought all flat sides ran lumpy?

mine was lumpy on tickover when i bought it, so i took it back and they balanced them and it was still the same :o
