Hello all

I have an Yamaha R6 model year 2000 with down draft carbs. I have a flat spot on full throttle at 6-8000 rpm.

when cleaning the carbs I noticed one of the diaphragm assembley's was split in three parts. see picture below

The part is sold as one piece

see diagram below part number 8

I pushed the part back together and refitted it but the fault is still there.

Assuming this is what is causing the fault can this part be repaired?

a new diaphragm will cost £125 so i'm hopeful I won't need to buy a new one

Alan

Once split it will be causing a leak, its pretty common to happen on older carbed biikes. I know its a lot but dare i say, you are probably better off replacing it than messing around with an attempted repair.

Its just one of those things.

Note: if you try this youself make sure you line the diaphragm and the bottom up in the carbs this is so the little pin on the ouside is in the right place.
