KILBURN Posted May 8, 2012 Share Posted May 8, 2012 Hello all I have an Yamaha R6 model year 2000 with down draft carbs. I have a flat spot on full throttle at 6-8000 rpm. when cleaning the carbs I noticed one of the diaphragm assembley's was split in three parts. see picture below The part is sold as one piece see diagram below part number 8 I pushed the part back together and refitted it but the fault is still there. Assuming this is what is causing the fault can this part be repaired? a new diaphragm will cost £125 so i'm hopeful I won't need to buy a new one Alan Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ryan09 Posted May 8, 2012 Share Posted May 8, 2012 Once split it will be causing a leak, its pretty common to happen on older carbed biikes. I know its a lot but dare i say, you are probably better off replacing it than messing around with an attempted repair. Its just one of those things.
