matyboy1 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 i found this earlier on my bike, a hole underneath where the crankcases meet as it looks like its been cut out,is it ment be there? http://s1079.photobu.../w508/matyboy1/
Keiran95 Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 if i am honest with you i have no idea but aslong as it isnt leaking then i wouldnt be too botherd about it, hows your bike running, good or bad?
matyboy1 Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 its not leaking,i had a look on the net at some engines and it was there so nothing to worry about i hope.as for running still same problem still wont rev up to 12000rpm,reving to about 9000 since ive cleaned the carb, better that 6500 i supose
Keiran95 Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 when you get to the maximun revs does it sound like its bogging and losing power, about to die?
matyboy1 Posted April 20, 2012 Author Posted April 20, 2012 its got power ,if you hold it there it will splutter let go of the throttle and it will pick up again untill it gets to that point
Keiran95 Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 yeah it seems to me to be somthing with your carb, do you know if the main jet is the right one? have a read through this mate,
Keiran95 Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 OR it could be that you have mixed too much 2 stroke oil with petrol, do you mix it yourself then add it to your tank or does your model have separate 2stroke tank??
matyboy1 Posted April 20, 2012 Author Posted April 20, 2012 im unsure what size jets in it at the mo mate ill check standard jet is a 210 going by that thread, the bike has a big one exhaust on it so i dont no if id have to upjet or not.as for the oil it a seperate tank
2 Wheels Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Yes,the hole in bottom of engine is meant to be there. If your bike is a DTR then you have a 210 main jet. If you have a standard exhaust (not silencer) then 9000 rpm is good and probably max you can get. The engine is boging out at 9000 rpm because it has reached its full breathing capassity,,,,,,air in and exhaust out. The red line starts at 10500 rpm BUT,,,,, and this is a biggy,,,,, if you hold your bike up at these revs for long periods of time then you are going to kill your engine,,,,,, so 9000rpm is good and your engine will last longer.
matyboy1 Posted April 21, 2012 Author Posted April 21, 2012 ive been told its either a 210 or 240 main jet if its an import or something,my clocks are in kph does that mean its an import?
Moderator Airhead Posted April 21, 2012 Moderator Posted April 21, 2012 yes it does of course, wanna buy a kph to mph converter i have a new one for sale...pm me if youre interested my import had a 240 and i fitted a 250 with a non standard carb and airbox
