Hi everyone.I am a good few years old and so are my bikes. My interests are DIY and bikes.

I wonder if someone can help me with the problem mentioned in the topic.

1st of all ,the ampage being drawn on ignition is 2.8 amps,

2nd the ampage being drawn with starter pressed is 6.8 amps

3rd voltage drops as low as 6volts to the CDI unit

The bike starts if you stab the starter, obviously not letting the voltage drop to such a low voltage level

All earths have been replaced and connectors checked cleaned and checked for continuity.

I know the bike is 21 years old but as a wise man once said to me "Every problem has a solution"

New Lucas battery fitted. Switch on sidestand replaced.Kill switch OK. All earths replaced

I would really appreciate any ideas or suggestions within reason!

Thanks in anticpation.

PS A good day on the Wirral Egg run this year.Good lads and a good turnout
