Posted April 2, 200519 yr recently aquired a dt 50 witrh no clutch i have now bought a new clutch and haynes manual but how the fcuk do you do a clutch on one without a full stripdown is it accesible from left side casing or right side casing if anyone can shed some light on this it will be apreciated
April 3, 200519 yr Moderator Most Yamaha's have the clutch on the right side of the motor. Drain the oil, & remove the Right side cover to expose it........your Haynes manual should be able to steer you from there Clutches are definitely one of the easier items to replace on a bike.

April 24, 200519 yr several things to check really if you have fitted a new clutch then it will need re adjusting to work properly this is achieved by turning the screw in the left hand casing until it takes up the play and then backing it off a 1/4 before locking it with the 10mm nut take any adjustment out of te cable before doing this ie give the cable more slack if this fails then you have maybe lost the little ball bearing that sits between the pushrod and the mushroom at the pressure plate end

April 28, 200519 yr if you have removed the mushroom then the little ball can sometimes follow it out never to be found again
