batch1967 Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Hi guys. I just completed my flat tracker project and thought I'd share a few pics of the build. Hopefully I've worked out how to import them properly! As I bought her. Stripped of the unwanted bits Xs250 tank New tank mount made Tank sitting on it's new mount Rear of frame cut and closed Right exhaust pipe done Left one tucks under frame... ...then finishes under the right one. XR seat unit plus an LED light. Forming a plywood seat base Seat base cut to shape Foam seat shaped... ...and upholstered Paint!! and more paint! I'm leaving the tank and seat unit in primer for now until I decide on a colour. I do quite like it in grey though!! Part assembled with new Triumph thruxton rear shocks. Finished and MOT'd just in time for some sunshine!

batch1967 Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 Cheers Guys! It's my first attempt at a flattracker and I am really pleased with the result (even if I say so myself!) When I bought the bike back in October I was Googling around looking at flat tracker pics etc. while deciding certain bits'n'pieces when I stumbled upon a rather nice XS400 build ( that's would be yours Drewpy!) which in turn led me to this site. It's nice to see so many people breathing life back into these bikes, but also putting their own twist into the mix and straying away from the usual "as new" type rebuilds.
