i have recently bought an old tzr 125 and on my way to restoring it but i have hit a wall so to say i need to get the barrel rebored as there is blow back and carbon on the side of the piston this is the (wall) so to say do the tzr have a chrome bore or normal steel any help is much appreciated the bike is the 1990 model

Welcome pathfdr" google the problem " unlss you have a manual... chrome barrel are hard, measure to see if out of tolerance ,, maybe get away with new piston

They dont have a chrome barel, and yes you can rebore,,,,,, but like blackhat says,,check tolerence's before you do anything

might only need new rings and the ring grooves cleaning, dont rebore without proof of wear to the bore!
