So i recently brought a Yamaha dt50 Mx. It was in a bit of a state so i took everything apart and resprayed everything and had to get the swing arm welded. After putting it back together i have found that the bike has no spark. The bike is the cdi version which has no points. I have checked all the wiring and everything is in its correct place. I have also brought a new ignition coil and spark plug and still nothing.

Has anyone had any similar problems or any info that may be able to help me?

Does anyone know if you can test a cdi unit ?

if you have another bike you can connect it up and see if it sparks then? thats the only way i can think of, have you checked all the wires? checked a diffrent plug? ht cap?

have you got a haynes book steve?

you need to test the magneto coils and the ignition coil, the figures will be in haynes book

All done now, Brought a bike with a cdi and switch it around. thanks for the replies though.
