Axle stands. Jack up front of bike place axle stands under frame, let jack down, jack up rear of bike, place axle stands under frame, let jack down job done.

Now introduce your self in the new members section.

Proper bike jack. Can get one for about £60.

Fancy ones cost more, of course.

I use big blocks of wood and/or the Mrs.

I use me trolley jack, axle stands and blocks of wood (paranoid about it falling over when I turn me back) I tried using the Mrs. but she wouldn't stand still while I parked it.

Take a look at the Sealey website for the Sealey MPS2 Two Arm Centre Stand. Works really well on my 1300 Midnight Star. Much cheaper than a standard lift.
