hi i'm new on here just got a dtx 125 first ride out last weekend damm thing siezed up (think oil pump died)

got the chance of a 2002 engine mine is a 2005 my question is will it fit & what will i have to change

well it might fit but wont be leccy start!

If it were me I would want to keep with the original engine for the registered engine number, and having said that would be looking to repair the damage

hi airhead thanks for reply i will be doing my own engine up but it needs a lot crank, rebore & new piston so in the mean time i have been given the chance of a 2002 engine cheap for now i knew about kick start just not sure if generator electrics are the same any help off any body is welcomed

I wondered about the stators too, unless the 05 stator will fit the 02 engine, i doubt you will find the answer to that without buying it, also compare the numbers on the rotors before mixing them up and note it down
