Posted January 14, 201213 yr hi a need help i have just rebuilt my dt 125 and when a turn the key on there is no spark from the spark plug but when i turn the key off there is a spark it has got me puzzled so if any1 can help Thank you michael
January 14, 201213 yr Moderator michael see my signature line Info is a bit vague but i am assuning this bike has points and they are stuck closed! DT125? well then which one? and what year?
January 14, 201213 yr sounds like bad earth somewhere , or most probably the main (key) switch knackered , have you checked the side stand switch ?
January 14, 201213 yr Moderator check the wiring to the ignition switch, are the connectors standard and intact or butchered in any way?

January 27, 201213 yr Author thank you for all you help a found out it was to do with the electic start live because i had to change it to kick start because of the new engine al sorted now thanks again
