hi colin.

what a mare!!

prob not a totally siezed engine so dont go buying a new engine yet...

your post is a bit sketchy and vague but maybe youve broken the kickstart spring or its come unhooked on the iside ov the engine or just got wedged on the frame tube or footrest...

give us MORE INFO!!!!!

what do you mean when you said the engine over revved?

Oil in the engine i assume?

MORE INFO PLEASE.

BTW, if the piston had siezed youd still be able to kick her over in neutral...

hi seana thanks for the reply sorry for sketchy post the bike seemed ok when bying then like i say next day did a mini service i.e new s,plug, new oil , filter etc , warmed the bike up for half an hour and seemed fine on tick over for that duration went out on it to see if it was abit more nippier after new plug it did seem fine on test ride the night before when bying just a tad sluggish , any way 5-10 minutes out on the bike and it just started over revving quite bad when turning up and down the lane decided to stop and just let it tick over ,no change it started again over revving full wack then would stop doing it then start again every time i touched the throttle it would do it more, my first thought was a sticky throttle cable , decided to cut it out by pulling of the spark plug cap , only way as it had no other method i couldnt stall , let it cool down for 1 - 2 hours and tryed to restart the bike it kicked with plenty of compression for 5- 6 times on its last attempt it sounded like it was gunna start never did, and the kickstart after that will not budge , its not trapped in anyway and cant be the spring as sure the kick would leave it at the bottom of the engine and not spring back up to the top its in its correct position i,ll take it to a bike garage to get sorted as im not that technical just thought if i new wat it sounded like would make sure the guys their would not have my eyes out , the question regarding the 2007 dtr engine was just to see if it would fit because for 100 pound sounded a bargain , but just could be getting myself into more hotwater with the mrs if thats buggerd lol it is off ebay , was happy to say the lad reinbursted me £100 pound off the bike which was a nice gusture sure not every 1 would do that in this world , thanks colin x

Gut feeling is crank seal, thats leaned the piston charge out so its overheated the piston and siezed, may free off.

May not, need to see the carnage...
