Morpheuz Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Hi De-restricted my air filter and drilled my backplate, I need to up my main jet a bit now. Most people are saying go from 76.5 to 90+ sizes, aint this a big leap? I will probably get a few, but need to know the thread size of the jets, as I have no idea what the carb is cant see it Thanks
dan28 Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 its running standard carb it will be a mikuni carb you can buy mikuni main jets on e bay i used a 95 in mine have a look here he sells all different sizes http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MIKUNI-Brass-Main-Jet-Jets-95-/190578939077?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2c5f63d4c5
Morpheuz Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 Should be standard, cheers bud, what mods have you given yours? Same as mine?
gemini Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 carb is a mikuni BDS26, standard main jet size is 90, thread is 5mm, i thought they were 6mm diameter not 8mm like this http://www.ebay.co.u...=item43a6ea21a5
Morpheuz Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 To get to the carb, I have to take off the tank, but the speed dial in on top and in the way, I have to remove rubber screws on it, how the hell do they come off?? Cheerz people, I may have to book this bike in a workshop.
gemini Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 providing they are original, push the centre pin in, pull the clip out, you can get to the bottom of the carb by removing all the air filter
Morpheuz Posted January 12, 2012 Author Posted January 12, 2012 I can only get to the outside of them, the cross is all I see, is that to be pushed in?
gemini Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 if they are crosshead plastic screws the originals have been replaced, just take the screw out and the plastic clip will pull out
Morpheuz Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 Mine are different at the back, can only just see underneath.
