Posted February 20, 200520 yr http://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/motor/index...44&modelcatid=3 Transmission : 6-Speed Manual Clutch w/ Reverse What the? Ive heard about it on gold wings but a trail bike?
February 21, 200520 yr Moderator That seems rather pointless on an 250! 660 Raptor Quads also have a reverse......but on that type of ride, it could be useful.
February 21, 200520 yr Author where do they wack it anyway, 1 gear (taps) below 1st? would be funny to see someone take off at a set of lights and they left it in reverse.
February 22, 200520 yr Moderator Not sure about the XT.......but the Raptor's have a "lock-out" set-up, so there's no mistakin' reverse for ANY forward gears. That takeoff scenario reminds me of a time once when I started my RD & it was actually running Backwards! ......dropped it into gear & kept rolling backwards.........kinda like having 6 reverse's! .......had to kill the motor & restart it to correct the prob........just another little idiosynchrosey of a Stroker. Alan (LC) knows what I'm on about here.
February 22, 200520 yr Admin Always remember seeing my mate on his Cagiva 125 thinking he was jack the lad do that and slam into the car behind him And before that he used to have a RD which i had seen it happen on a few times too!
March 1, 200519 yr Author I emailed a yamaha store about it, and this is there reply: This is obviously a mis-print on our website. The site has just been upgraded to the 2005 models.I will have to talk to our I.T. guys. But ive found it on 2 websites so far. Odd.
March 1, 200519 yr Author They have now updated there website and taken it off after i emailed them lol.
March 1, 200519 yr Admin Hehe.. dick heads... shame you didnt actually buy one, then it would have caused probelems
March 1, 200519 yr Author My cuz was after one, i'm straight road for now (in other words untill i can afford 2 bikes). Seems like all yamaha's (local stores) used the same website to produce there pages, so all local ones around here were wrong lol.
March 2, 200519 yr ooooooooooooh I would love reverse, at 200kg dry weight my scooter's a real lard arse.
