1974 YZ80...1st Year?

So I picked up a 74 YZ80 and am trying to make sure the numbers agree with years. The listing I see shows the 74 as the 1st year of the YZ80 (462xxxxxx serial number). Does anyone have any other information on this.

If this is the 1st year is there anything special about it?
