boduzafa Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Hi - new member here - just bought a 2001 xt600E - great bike for London commuting - love it - it has 5000 miles and is in great condition - however on a long road i can only get 70mph max out of it ; then it runs out of 'puff' - just stutters and judders a bit - under 70 engine sounds great i am a fairly big bloke so it may be that this is all i get from it Views?? gizmo666 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 i disagree the xt600e should be capable of 80/90mph a bit faster if kept in good care check the specs http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/buyersguide/Yamaha-XT550-XT600-XT600E.htm i would check for a restriction kit fitted as bringing down the hp to 33 would give the effect your experiencing hope this helps
NEV Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Nah after about 75 it feels like the SS Enterprise going through a wormhole, you probably could get to 80 or 90, but ya don't bloody want to, it says top speed in my manual is 100 btw. As for looking after it, you can be the judge of that URL=http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/851/myyamaha600e.jpg/]
