Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and have just started work on a 1979 DT250MX. I've had it in the garage for 14 years and it ran fine at that point but had a badly slipping clutch. A friend stripped the clutch down but couldn't fix it so it was left. I have now decided to re-commission it and have ordered new clutch plates and gaskets for it. I have a couple of questions though:

1. Can anyone tell me if all DT250 oil pump covers will fit or was the MX different? It has gone missing in the 14 yrs since I laid it up.

2. Are the dowels that go in the clutch side crank casing available new or are there other models dowels that will fit (I think there are a couple of them??) Again they have gone missing in the garage.

Thanks for your help,

I'm sure there'll be more questions when it comes to firing her up. The carb has been cleaned and was in good shape, the plug was a good colour so I don't envisage any major problems.
