Hi all, I introduced myself a while back and was trying to get a SR250 running again. Well, said bike is back together and running. My problem is, the damned thing will not start without some serious coaxing (hooking it up to an extra battery, pouring fuel straight into the head ect) I think the choke is not working,(If you pull it out once the bike is warm it doesn't make any difference, surely the bike should stall?) but when I removed it, it seems a simple thing that you just have to ensure that its not blocked. Am I missing something? If anybody knows how it works I would appreciate it. Failing that, the ignition timing may be out but there seems to be no adjustment in the plate where the coils are mounted, is it wise/possible to slot the holes in it?

Please forgive the long winded post

Thanks.

What kind of choke is it...is it the pull knob plunger type commonly fitted to 2 stroke bikes? (yes i know it is a 4 stroke) but reading between the lines i think you are suggesting it is.

This is how it works if so....

That looks like the same carb. Thanks so much, I will pull it apart and let you know how I get on.

Managed to sort it out, the hole B was blocked solid. Thanks again for the help.
