Hey guys,

So I was riding my AT1 today and I noticed my back brake had some travel I wanted to eliminate (The bike has drum brakes, by the way.) I tightened it WAY too much, but seemed to work ok until I went to slow to pull into my driveway. I hit the back brake with normal pressure and the wheel completely locked. I got it to unlock and adjusted the brake out until the bike moved freely again and took another test ride. Whenever I would slow to come into a stop, the back wheel would lock. Ok, easy fix, just adjust it out more, right? Apparently wrong. I have it currently adjusted out so that it doesn't lock when you hit the brake at normal pressure, but the brakes drag. There's not much more room to adjust it out more, and I'm afraid to ride it far for fear of wearing out the brakes. What did I do wrong and how can I fix it?

maybe the shoes have worn and the leverage is on the limit. how much meat is left on the shoes? also if you have a cable operation, that may have stretched.

another issue could be weak return springs
