Hey everyone, I joined on here because I finally, FINALLY, got my old bike running good and am going to be looking up a lot of info about these things.

(I don't know if this is all correct, please correct me if you see something)

1976? MX175 frame

1976? DT175 engine (supposedly built)

197x? YZ125 ignition system (CDI)

19xx? xx250 front forks

Mikuni race carb, cone filter

Race pipe (stupid loud lol)

My neighbor bought it from a guy that had built it for vintage racing. The second year my neighbor pulled it out of the shed, it wouldn't start and he sold it to me for $100.

Since that day, it's been nothing but headaches and cussing haha. It basically sparked when it felt like it... it would run at my house, so I'd load it up, get to the trails and spark was gone. F*CK!!

First repair was digging out the RTV-like stuff around the contacts of the pulser, new wires soldered in, that fixed it for a day or so. Then I found a ground wire with a break in it, that fixed it for a day lol. A week ago I discovered the input wire for the coil was only hanging on by a few strands, so I replaced that wire and BOOM! It's fired up every single day since then, new record!!!

Enough rambling... pics:

I've had this bike for almost 4 years now, it sat in my parents shed for most of that time, but I could never sell it. I had someone offer me $800 for it... but couldn't sell it lol. Now someone else wants to trade me a blaster for it, which are fun as hell but I dunno....

Some other stuff about me... I love all kinds of bikes, I own an '01 gsxr 750 (backroad warrior, track slut), '82 goldwing (work vehicle), '81 virago 750 (stupid loud, cruiser bike)

....holy long intro post batman!
