Hey guys. So I bought my first motorcycle ever and it is a blast. I bought a 1996 Yahama Seca 2 and it is a fun beginners bike. I have had the bike for about 3 months now and have just got one of my first problems with it. The neutral light sensor went to crap and now my bike doesn't know when it is in neutral. I have been surfing the net for hours trying to find out where the sensor is for my bike but no luck. I have see tons of people post pictures where it is on newer models but is no help for me. Please let me know if you have any idea where it is located and if cleaning it will fix it or is it time to buy a replacement piece.

Don't be frustrated. Your bike knows very well when it is in neutral. May be you don't know when it is in neutral

Now seriously, The neutral "sensor" is usually a very simple switch. There should be two wires coming out of the lamp - one of them is going directly to the switch.

And I bet the problem is the wire (or the light), not the switch itself.

Ya I saw that diagram earlier today and tried to find it on my bike. My guess is that it is hidden behind one of the bars. I tried following a the wires but could not find where the one wire went into the motorcycle. I guess tomorrow I will try again. It might also be the wiring because the light in my dashboard doesn't light up so I really can't drive at night either. BTW does anyone know a place to buy a cheap motorcycle stand because I have nothing.
