Posted June 11, 201114 yr Hi, I am new to this site and a new Yamaha tx500 owner. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about replacing my engine with a xs400? Is it possible and what would be the pros and cons? I hope I don't sound totally stupid, but this is all new to me and I would appreciate any help I could get on this. Thank y'all so much.
June 11, 201114 yr Moderator I think it can be done as the 500 engine is bigger. you will have to make some engine plates and line up the chain to the rear wheel, a lot of work BTW!
