Marc001
Hi, This may sound dumb but being new to biking can someone explain what is meant by adjusting the freeplay in the cable to brake/clutch and throttle. I have read in the manual how to do it, but an not sure what exactly i am feeling for? Is it the slack in the feel of the cables before anything happens? I hope i am explaining myself properly. Moderator YamaHead Posted June 6, 2011 Moderator Share Posted June 6, 2011 Just a touch of FreePlay with the Clutch cable is preferable...... that way it fully disengages & you don't get that infamous clutch "drag" that wears 'em out prematurely. Ttaskmaster
In full: With the bike switched off- Squeeze the clutch lever in and out. See how stiff it is? Now let it go completely. See how the lever has a bit of back-and-forth wiggle between where it is fully out and where it starts to get stiff? That is your freeplay. Same for the throttle. Alles Klar?
