Hello to all,

I'm trying to balance carbs on xj 750 . Do I need the YICS cut off rod

(Yamaha part no. 90890-04068) or is there any way around this . Has anyone got one of these lurking in the back of their shed either for loan or sell (cheap) ? I know this is an older bike so any help greatly appreciated.

:hi to the Forum Header.

You'll definitely need that YICS shut-off tool......I've been dealing with this scenario for years, as I too ride older XJ's  I've been told that Yamaha doesn't make that tool anymore :? ....& if you can find one, they'll be a bit spendy.

I've been fortunate to have a friend who lives close by, who has one......So that's how I've been keeping my carbs balanced.

The best of luck with locating one.
