Evening guys, I have recently bought a 1991 xj 600 pre div for the commute to work. My question is this, the front brake performance seems quite poor. The bike only has 14000 miles on it and the pads, discs seem good and I don't think there much flex in the hoses. They are twenty years old I guess!! So I need advice on what to do next?

I thought the pads may have become contaminated maybe or perhaps I need to overhaul the calipers with new pistons and seals. I've bleed the system so far and cleaned up the calipers and pins....

What is the normal performance for these brakes, mine seem lazy and not as sharp as they should be. has anyone upgraded the calipers??

Any reccomendations gratefully recieved.

New pads 1st....then maybe a set of braided lines.....& make sure those rotors are clean! ;)
