Can anyone tell me if an engine swap from an 80 XS400SG to an 82 XS400SJ is a straight forward bolt in or are there any mechanical or electrical modifications required? Any tips or tricks?

so long as they are both sohc and have the electronic ignition, i can't forsee any problems.

it should be just a straight swap.

just have a looksey at the front mountings and see if they are the same. the engines got rubber mounted at the front about 1980
