I was hoping someone out there may be able to help. I'm restoring my 1978 Yamaha XT250, my first project of this nature. The engine itself is in a terrible way and its going to be more

economical to buy another one. I have found two today, one taken from an xt250 with a round swing arm profile and the other newer one from a square swing arm profile. Will the newer

engine fit on my bike ?. I dont know what year the swing arms changed, so cant date the engine & the chap selling it doesn't know. Any help in this area would be great. Also if anyone

could recommend other places to pick up engines i'd be very grateful.
