IMO the Fazer 1000 gen1 is already a classic. I know loads of people that have sold them and moved onto other bikes only to ditch them in return for another Fazer.

The bike is a stonker! With a torquey R1 lump, steel frame and manners, these bikes will and still hold their own against newer machineery. They'll mile much any motorway in confort, scratch back lanes, and arrive at the track to blitz plenty sports bikes that happen to have turned up on the same day. Then they'll get you home in comfort when the day is done.
