I am looking for a few parts for my xv535 but have noticed xvs650 one's are much cheaper, floorboards for one, will the 650 one's fit my xv535? I can't really see why they wouldn't but have any of you good folks interchanged bits between the 2 bikes?

Knowing Yamaha, they probably won't.

I had to change the rear brake switch on my old XVS650 and got one from ebay that had come off an XVS650a - it didn't fit as they've got a different shape connector on...

It seems the only reason for the difference is to make you buy O.E.M. parts for your specific bike.

I may be wrong, but I seriously doubt they will fit.

Thanks Cov,thinking about it that sounds about right mate

Aftermarket parts are usually cheaper that OEM. However, you can usually find 535 parts quite cheap second hand on the myriad sites. eBay is always good for such stuff.

Thanks Ttaskmaster,i can't remember ever seeing any footboards secondhand for the 535 but i'll keep my eyes open lol :thumb:

Check around breakers yards, partfinder etc...

That's a good idea about the partfinder sites mate, never gave that a thought

PartFinder, Part-finder, Part_finder, Parts-Finder, Part-Finders, .com, .co.uk, .net etc etc...

There are quite a few permutations.
