rollsroyce Posted February 8, 2011 Share Posted February 8, 2011 hi peeps i have an ultra short pipe on my 2001 R1,(bloody gorgeous) on a run last week the rev counter was reading 7000-zero, but it cleared after a few miles. the manual says this is an ex-up valve problem, it says it may cause engine damage ?? how serious is this, was thinking it is not recognising the short pipe i have got on, just dont want to fit the old pipe back on it, (well not until the first POOLE meeting anyhow. cheers rolls Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Speedshop Posted February 9, 2011 Share Posted February 9, 2011 I take it with the short pipe you still have the exup valve fitted and connected? The rev counter going blank shows that there is a system fault; could be because the ecu lost contact with the exup valve. maybe a loose connection?
