Athena 170cc cylinder kit on dt 125

Hey iv been looking at this 170 kit, just wondering if anyone has experiance with this kit and would i be better buying a barrel and getting it bored and ported?

ive always being tempted by that myself but the kit costs £400 have you thought of trying to find a dt 200 engine that might work better and cheaper for you

Boring point, a 170bore will be utterly illegal and in any bad situation the law and the insurance companies will spank you till you cry "mummy".

That said with that kit set up properly you do get a lot of go for your buck, maybe crack a genuine 80, 85mph which on those spedo's will prob show as 110.

All over the place claiming DT's cant do a genuine 80! Haha! Wish i still had mine so i could wack thr go pro on and mount a sat nav.

I have this kit on mine, the power throughout the gears is crazy, it will try to wheelies up untill bout 3rd gear.. serious horses & fun
