Just wondering if anyone has seen this problem before.

I changed the battery on my XT 125 X 2008 the other day , Correct battery , correct installation. When I started the bike the whole digital dash went up in smoke , nice black cloud. Now I am left with a bike and no dash. I see I can buy another one for £100. A bit worried that I attach another one and get the same problem. Any help appreciated.

I would check the voltage regulator is functioning and also the battery fuse is intact. I dont know a jot about digital dashes but I assume it has had a massive over voltage to do this, so thats why I would check these things
