DeaD_MooMin Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Hey all, Just a quick one bought one of those dan dan GP extreme exhausts for my FZ1 and now i need to remove the stock which involves taking out the exup valve . any one know if this will have drastic effects on the bike ? and will i need to buy a power commander once the slip on is fitted for re-mapping? Also what a surprise it didn't come with all the fixtures , no exhaust mount or tension springs . And after emailing them 4 times now finally got a reply saying there in the exhaust ..... which there not! so anyone know where i can pick some springs up ? Cheers Dan
Speedshop Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 You need a little box that fools the ECU into thinking the EXUP valve is still working or you'll get a engine warning. I've been told a power commander will also fix this but seems like an expensive way round it and there's nothing to say 100% if it will or not. We at Rex's Speed Shop were looking to build a unit to fool the ECU but didn't seem to be much call for them. They would however be a hell of a lot cheaper then a power commander!

Thanks for the reply was just hoping in removing it i wouldn't get any performance issues
DeaD_MooMin Posted March 5, 2011 Author Posted March 5, 2011 Well after many months a finally got the exhaust parts ! i ordered one of them dan dan moto gp extreme cans it turned up in a matter of days ! but the fixtures and fittings have taken atleast two months to arrive! Removed the EXUP fine the copperdawg vid helped lol but no warning lights have come on and it runs great ! the only issue i do have is the fitment , im having to cut the link pipe down as its far too long so when your mount is on its hardly taking any weight due to the length . also the exhaust mounts are pretty cheap and useless to be honest , and the tension springs dont seem to hold it together very strong , so im getting it welded all in all good can, good finish and if your after a loud deep can within a budget .... this is the one ! its that loud im getting complaints where i live with the vibrations ha
