Ravensia Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Hey, looking for a direct replacement for my Caliper on my 1981 XS400, if anyone knows where to get one new, replacement, or whatever let me know, It's driving me crazy, because I want to think the ones from MikesXS will work, but I want to check.

Good question! I was wondering about the XS650 ones also. NOS prices for a replacement are usually pretty high.
Moderator drewpy Posted January 7, 2011 Moderator Posted January 7, 2011 show us the link, if you don't mind non orginality, you can fit fz600 disks and 4 pot calipers with a bespoke caliper mount. I've also rebuilt mine with stainless pistons and a caliper seal kit! worls out a lot cheaper
Ravensia Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 This is the link for the calipers. http://www.mikesxs.net/products-50.html#products I just dont feel like ordering it and it being crap. That and I know I saw it on here before but the swap from single disk to dual on the XS400, I think you use the forks from the xs650 right?

And I have a question, didn't you change your Swingarm to let a wider tire fit, or am I mistaken.Or is there even an easy way to go about that?

I was going to change to an xj600 radian swingarm, but for expediency I have kept the original for now!
