Hi

New member, 1st post, seeking advice!!

I have a '91 TDM 850 (but guess this could apply to any bike). Bike is running rich and I need to sort that. Got new exhaust downpipes and after getting the old ones off, the outlet ports are extremely sooty. Other than taking the head off and cleaning whole thing out, any advice on best way to clean these up a bit before I fit new pipes?

Any ideas, tips greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Peter

Sooty Exhaust Port ....

I thought this was some kind of porn link where I might find Sweep and Sue too :hah:

Sorry, one of them moods today..... but :welcome:

I've never had this problem, it mostly clears itself with a good run. I'd try something like Redex (can you even still get that?), but there will be someone along soon who can give you a usefull answer rather than taking the piss..... :whip:

redex is still available but a mate in the ,know, tells me it doesn't actualy work,it softens the carbon ,but that only assists in cleaning once it's stripped down.you can put some in for a laugh though.:D
