I don't know if there is anyone interested, but right now the only true 'Race to Dakar' is taking place. You will of course know that 'Le Dakar' is no longer run in Africa (although there was a rumour that it might return this year - but hasn't!), in it's place there runs a classic event (under classic rules, rather than first-past-the-post).

Take a look at the links, there are a couple of Yamaha's running, a classic Tenere, and a new Tenere.

You'll have to excuse the quality, had to print the pic then scan it back in... The guy you see here on Number 5 is a mate of mine, on a pretty much stock 2009 Tenere (the forks have been replaced with WP40's for longer travel, other than that it the one you buy in the shop).

September gone by, over here,,,,(i missed it) there was mini Dakar held just for the fun !

Guess wat they called it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,," The Paddy Dakar"

I herd they had good craic and it all went well. It was well organised by a few lads that go mad for this sort of thing.

You might be interested to know, Bernard is Irish, in fact he is a past Irish Enduro Champion..... I would have loved to go, but the cost, and I'd never keep up with him....
