Posted October 16, 201014 yr Hi guys I am new this this forum, I am glad to see you all out there. I just got a new (used) 1979 Chappy 49 cc moped. I have a billion questions. The bike is in good condition I want to charge the battery but I can't figure out how to remove it. Next the petals are not conected because the chain is missing and the kick starter petal is missing, how can I start this baby, can I push start it?

October 16, 201014 yr No worries Dude first, you cant jump/bump start a bike with no chain, if you have a photobucket account or similair post some pictures of what you have, this helps a lot
October 16, 201014 yr Author It has a chain on the main drive the chain is off on the petal section (petals disconnected). There is a lever marked D-N-L on the left side of the bike I assume it is the D=drive N=Neutral etc? Does that need to be in N to push start. I also notice the kick start footpetal does not kick down, it feels like it is gear and will not move. What am I doing wrong
