Just found this forum today and it seems great. Was reading a bunch of posts about the DTr125 being restricted and it got me thinking if my 78 was also. Dad bought the bike new when he bought my first YZ80 and since he has passed on, I have the bike now. When I got my 06 WR, the Yamaha manual listed everything thats nedds to be done to unrestrict it, but I dont have the manual to check for the 78. If unrestricting is possible, I doubt Dad did it and I would really like to give this old workhorse some more umpf!

YUP. 1978 DT175E with the mono shock

Not really restricted John, it's more in a mild state of tune.

however there may be a small tube in the neck of the standard exhaust the will reduce the diameter. This can be removed, I will put up some pics later for you
